Mittens (working title)
Last weekend, I met a sweet 13-week-old kitten named “Mittens” at the Picasso Veterinary Fund adoption van. I’m a bit nervous about holding babies and other breakable things, but this little man didn’t squirm at all during the three minutes I held him; I applied to adopt him right then and hoped for the best. Today, his caretaker at Picasso hopped in a cab and delivered him to me. Though Mittens and I have only known each other for about seven hours, it’s obvious we’re gonna be best friends.
I hear the name “Mittens” is a common cat name, so I’m considering renaming him. Maybe Boots (Puss in Boots!), Nico (after my world traveling French friend Nico), Friday (in honor of Rebecca Black and viral videos), Sriracha or Schnitzel. I’m going to call him all of these in the next few days to see if he has a preference.
