Food-inspired Art at “Something I Ate”
I have an English friend named Kat Popiel who has built a career producing fun events with seriously talented people. Her latest is a food and art event called Something I Ate, which will be held on Friday April 29th at Rouge 58 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Kat and her co-host Sam Kim of Skimkim Foods have asked some of their favorite visual artists to get involved, encouraging them to chronicle what they eat and drink for seven days to create an art piece inspired by their findings.
Sam Kim will be designing a specialty dish and cocktail to serve on opening night for up to 80 guests. What’s more, food architects Bompas & Parr will be in town from London and they’ll be activating “a whimsical and crazy installation” in the garden of the gallery. Kat says “if you’ve not heard of them, look them up. They’ll blow your mind!”
(The photo above from their website blows my freakin mind.)
Your ticket will include an evening with friendly folks, cocktails and a smorgasboard of bites to coincide with the work on show. Get your ticket here.
