happy song about couples who fight
Late start to the day. Iced coffee. Emo music for singing at the top of your lungs. So great.
listening now song for happy spring days
on repeat “when you run away you can go anywhere”
I love this song. It reminds me of endless summer days and the infinite possibilities that come with them.

Meet your new music obsession, Little Daylight. They premiered their super catchy first single “Overdose” today.
I’ve had LD songs and remixes on repeat for months now. Matt Lewkowicz from the band is good friends with Chris, so I’ve had secret access but was not allowed to share my love for them until today.
Don’t miss their video premiere on Stereogum who also had nice words to say like, “[It] will glue itself to your brain.” And because this is Tumblr you should follow littledaylightsounds, too.

keep on keepin on
I have had this song stuck in my head since this morning and one quick Google search led me to the source… darn Chase commercial! Some songs can be irritatingly catchy, but at least this one fits the mood of the week. Not to mention, I love it.
And speaking of moodiness, I have progressed from depleted to eating pate for breakfast and fried chicken at midnight to twiddling my thumbs and, just this morning, looking ahead again. Keep on keepin on, friends.
“Under Control” by Tim Myers feat. Ben Lee. Free download via the Chase website here.

Late night listening…
And not only because I had 3.5 cocktails and am deep in Happy Land where 99 cent pizza is the answer to all Life questions. How much does pizza cost to make anyway!? All pizza should be no more than a dollar. Just a (deep) thought.

A Song For Sunday
I watch So You Think You Can Dance for the music as much as I watch it for the dancing. “Inside these Lines” by Trent Dabbs was featured in a dance on Wednesday and I’ve been obsessed with it since. I’m aiming to finish a video for Foodspotting today before heading to the far reaches of Brooklyn (Bensonhurst!) to hang out with my ten cousins and all my aunts and uncles. It’s my grandma’s birthday today. Hope you’re having an easy Sunday wherever you are!

Ain’t No Sunshine by Lighthouse Family. Easy evening listening, good writing music. Another almost all-nighter ahead, which reminds me: I was never very good at staying awake even in college when you’re, like, supposed to.

For Old Times’ Sake
I think I cried to this song once upon a long long time ago, but I’ll never admit it. That’d be embarrassing. Don’t remember what inspired me to revisit NSync though. Maybe it’s because I miss the singing version of Justin Timberlake, or maybe I’m feeling nostalgic. Boy bands don’t sing sappy songs like they used to.
They don’t make terrible music videos in which they’re wearing straitjackets in mental institutions either. sigh.

Adieu, Spring Break For Nerds (Self Included)
After six days in Austin, I’m relieved to be back at work. Of course, when I say back at work, I mean camped out at a coffee shop in Dallas, Texas answering emails, planning, plotting, writing, and listening to songs that will always remind me of the good times had at SXSW. Even if the song is originally from the Step Up 3D soundtrack.

What Foodspotting Will Be Listening To At SXSW
I have an awesome habit of playing a song over and over (and over and over) again until everyone - including myself - is so sick of it that we never want to listen to it ever again.
To that end, I am compiling an awesome playlist (sixteen songs so far!) to get the Foodspotting team and me through the South by Southwest festival this week. We’re sharing ONE SUITE between eight people. It’ll be just like old times!
If you’ll be in Austin this weekend, don’t even think about skipping Foodspotting’s Official SXSW Street Food Fest on Sunday. I will be there dancing to this song, Here (In Your Arms) by Hellogoodbye, because it will be playing on repeat in my head.
